Optimo

Optimo, a lovely evening in the sub club, every sunday. (also thrown in a link)

The que is always so big, but last night me and Alex joined it and recieved a raffel ticket each, just saying that they hadn't reached capacity yet etc, (I think it is because they take ages allowing people in since everyone needs to stop at the cash desk) Alex said that it was false hope, but I was determined to go that night.

So twenty minutes later, after promising that we would be there ten minutes before opening to join the que next time, we got in, and it was a fantastic night, but one of the djs always looks like he is violating the decks when he is following the beat.

We were dancing and all was good with the world. When we arrived there was a band from Berlin on called the Jeans Team (or something) they were really good actually, and I am one for saying if I hate a band I haven't heard of them and think the music be shyte. One night at optimo was ruined by a shyte band, I subsequently forgot their name.

however, this band was really good, great rhythms, simple hard electro bass, just how I like it. then the djs went back on.

This was fun the music was hard and funky and electronic, what a combo! I have to say I enjoyed it until the dj who rodgers the wall of the booth when he matches the beats, went on.

I have been to optimo a few times, not so many but I'm sure that every time I have been there, he has played "sweet dreams are made of these" by the eurythmics, now I like the afore mentioned band despite not being able to spell the name properly but the dj is being "ecclectic" and "outthere" but he does it a lot, (the phrase "one trick pony" comes to mind). he put on "rock the kashba" which I got down to, but me and Alex had fallen off the wave.

I later tried to speak to one of the bouncers that worked in the artschool when I Dj-ed there, I think he thought I was trying to chat him up. This gent has radical views, (he is from marishous) he thinks racism is good, charities are useless, globalisation is bad, and small talk even worse. He once told me that every conversation needs to have an in depth meaning. I kind of freaked me out since I was like "then there is no truth" scary stuff no less.

We left, I got a pizza and I listened to some chilled out dance when I got home.

I think I might start giving optimo the optimal body swerve in future, might start trying out sub culture on Saturdays, £10, a deal if I every seen one

Catch ye

Allie
