Here comes the rain again

3rd February 2005

Actually I haven't seen it rain in Glasgow for days and it's been mild. Though it has been wet whenever I have ventured out of the house or a pub, no puddles but the ground is shiny. Maybe that is the Glasgow shine or Stealth rain as Alex my chum postulated.

I think I'm getting ill. Argh!! Oh well, but I'm too young, arrogant and busy to get ill, Gad Damn it!! (Rain being a metaphor for illness)

I thought I was getting away with it, everyone around me has been sniffling and groaning about aches, last week I met one of the flatmates in the kitchen and noticed he was brandishing two cups of beechams, he was getting one for himself and the other for the other flatmate. I thought this was sweet since they are both guys and look mumykins insy here to nurse you, so I guess they were taking it in turns, oh bless. Of course they had the "Flu" not just a gimpy cold.

Anyway I'm been blowing my nose repeatedly and (please ignore if squeamish) its not green, just a clear white thing, like "the stuff" and Solid no less and my head is sore and boo hoo hoo but it isn't a runny nose. I thought since spring was around the corner I would have escaped the dreaded cold for this year.

However the rainy Scottish Spring rarely gives much respite from illness, after getting home drenched, Achoo!!!!

Anyway symptoms so far
Sore head, and the compulsion to evacuate my nose on a regular basis despite the lack of runniness.

More symptoms tomorrow, watch this space!!

You wouldn't want to miss it!!!

Allie

ps. I actually don't personally associate rainy days with illness, since I'm usually happy when it rains, rain is nice, nice beavy rain is pure braw, but people don't believe me, they just keep telling me "That's garbage", I don't know.
