Lost in Music couldn’t take my vinyl. ie they only sell non Allie records, does that make any sense, might try missing records, mabey they will take records that I would like to go, well, missing.
I was determined not to buy anymore vinyl for a while but ended up leaving the place with four records, argh!! I didn't realise the full name of the shop, ie (lost in music, caught in a trap)
here's what I got!! oooh oooh!
Whitney, the album by, err Whitney Houston surprisingly, the best of Belinda Carlisle, a record that is a tribute to the sting, ie the genius of Scott Joplin and finally a Donna Summer record, oh man, I am so weak willed, the plan was to off load vinyl and I ended up buying more, I think I’m addicted. (actually has that Stallion way upon a hill side song that take that made love to against it's will (ie, rodgered) or "could it be magic" she moans in it alot!! I'm shocked!! I feel shock I feel shock I feeeeeel shock!!)
I took a coy look to my left as I was flicking through everything they had and saw the group of people I was a member of, anoraks!! Well I did say you have to be an anorak to be a dj, because it involves an unhealthy enjoyment of finding music however, this does not excuse this moment of weakness.
The shop assistant guy said that they didn’t buy vinyl anymore, but I could do exchanges, so I had a look around. I found the afore mentioned records and gingerly walked up to the counter, he was gossiping with some other musicy guy. (guys doooo gossip I don’t care if you do call it networking, actually networking involves speaking to people you really don’t know, but when you build up a clique it becomes gossip)
I was soo embarrassed when he flicked through the eleven records I wanted rid of, especially when he passed the Craig Daaaavid one, the ground couldn’t swallow me since we were up stairs. He said he couldn’t do anything with them, I think the craft shop downstairs might have been able to though, I should have tried them, not enough ashtrays and clocks and skirts made completely out of records about these days.
So I am now listening to Belinda, pretty groovy, though there is a riff in the song about heaven being located on earth somewhere, that I wish would last a few bars extra, I think it is during the bridge, before the repeat of the chorus until fade heh heh. 80s ROCK!!! Pure Class though,
I can’t remember exactly what I was meandering along Byres Road for again, but I got some money out and popped into star bucks, for a cup of tea. What is the point in that? My flat is around the corner!!! I think I was having a series of unhelpful events.
As I was walking out of the s-bucks a guy was coming in, so I stepped back to let him in and he stopped and held the door open, but I had already stopped to let him in, so that was awkward!! Then walked all the way to the Safeway at the end of the road, about two blocks down but a good walk I can tell you, worrying as I walked, that I had been rude since I think I clipped a gent who was with him with my bag of records as I passed.
(I elaborate on my other blog)
Allie Ps Donna Summer is really good, listen to her, for she has much to teach us.
