I remember we were driving

15th March 2007

When I was a young girl, I smoked and drank then I stopped, did my highers and got to University.

then I decided when i was twenty, that I would learn to drive, so here is the story of my driving instructor, and learning and my spiral back into smoking, but don't let me ruin the ending

I decided I would learn to drive, a company that will be left annonymous provided the lessons and a driving instructor was also provided.

So i am waiting in my flat at the correct time, and he never showed up, apparently got the wrong time. this is a pattern that would continue, I often missed university because I thought I had a lesson and he wouldn't show, but would always apoligise.

My driving instructor told me that his mother was very ill, infact she fell ill when I started my lessons, so he was juggling a lot of things at home. I wont go into detail.

My first lesson was up in springburn, he said that kids had sometimes ran into his car when he was giving a lesson. So I soon realised that I was learning to drive in an area where I wasn't completly unlikely to get car jacked, ho ho ho, how we laughed.

He drove a Golf GTI,(i wasn't learning in a golf) infact I thought this was really funny and cool at the same time. he was a bit of a boy racer at heart so much that he congratulated me on my first wheel spin. ho ho ho.

so came my test to get my liscence, I apparantly tried to over take a bus on the brow of a hill. so on the way home, I was kind of upset, and instructor turned to me and said "do you mind if I smoke?" I said "No, on you go... infact could I join you?" he said "of course." handed me his ciggarette and as they say, the rest is history. that was a year ago, cough!!!!

I passed a month or so later and got the same test guy ironically enough, I had been warned by my instructor, that the test guy will ask me to stop the car at strange moments, and ask me to pull of and continue. He said that they are allowed to do that about ten times in a test and it will feel like they are playing with your mind.

Anyway, one of the times the test guy asked me to stop, and asked me if I was ok, I thought I had failed again. I was wrong.

From that day on i was unleashed on to the mean streets of Glasgow, also got on the motorway as soon as I could, yippee (in a resposible way of course)

anyway that is my story all true except the part when i only mentioned one of my faults. I actually went to go on a roundabout when I shouldn't have, I must admit the test guy's voice wasn't as calm as it could have been.
