Graduation

Monday, July 11, 2005
Ho ho ho, so I graduated on Thursday, was a very surreal day, was at the begining of a bad flu, still recovering ninoo.
Alex joined me and my mother, the father was ill, so Alex had the privlege. The ceremony began with John Butt (the head of the music department) teaching everyone the melody and words to "Gaudeamus Igitur" was very funny, he also got a round of applause! since the degree I just completed was joint honours with the music department, I knew john from general dealings around the department, always happy to help!
as I popped up to the graduation guy (hmm all the technical speak here) he didn't read out my full name, just my first and second. This was due to how i actually filled in the graduation form, or something, though my mother had the gaul to suggest that I had done that on purpose, like I was embarrased, I'm 22!! she'll never leave it.
anyway the guy who put the hood over my head started franticly whispering "Shake his hand!Shake his hand!Shake his hand!Shake his hand!"
I was mortified, but only stuart, who was up after me admitted to hearing it, and I ask everyone if they had heard it and then told them what happened when they said they hadn't.
so all in a bit of a bizarre day, had an amazing meal in the Bothy, but felt strangly drunk, due to illness.
popped home, hearing the terrible news of London on that day. So surreal, the news was report the details of different things, like new revelations, you couldn't just get a report explaing what had happened, finnally found information on the net, the rest of the country was dealling with this attack all day where i was quite frankly oblivious, very strange indeed.
Later went back to Glasgow, after being invited out. but my illness was worsoning, so we went to the art school, got rather drunk and crashed back at stuart's flat.
I left in the morning, felt rubbish!! argh!! but you only do these things, once or twice.
but look at these lovely pictures of the university!
